Police searching for three attackers after 12 wounded in Toronto shooting | Gun Violence News

Authorities said three masked men “opened fire everywhere” in bars in Canadian cities.

Police in Toronto said they were looking for three men suspected of participating in the shooting that injured 12 people in a bar in a Canadian city.

Authorities say the masked gunman opened fire at the Piper Arms bar on Friday’s opening night. The attack is the latest in years-long gun violence by parents in North America that prompted lawmakers to freeze some of the guns for sale in recent years.

“They walked into the bar. They produced guns and they fired unfavorably in the bar.

McIntyre, who served in organized crime law enforcement, added that the gunshot wounds of six victims were not life-threatening. Others were injured from broken glass, he added.

Police said the motive for the shooting remains unclear.

“Our investigation will tell us if the bar is targeted for a specific reason,” McIntyre said.

“Maybe someone is inside someone doesn’t like it. Maybe someone is eating beef on the business. We don’t know,” he added.

Police officials told reporters he had watched surveillance videos of the bar that showed people hiding in cover or falling on the floor after being hit.

“It’s a reckless act of violence that shocked our communities and cities,” he said, adding that police will “not work hard” when searching for suspects.

Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow said on social media platform X that she was “deeply troubled” to learn about the shooting at the bar, adding that the police chief assured her that “all necessary resources have been deployed.”

Violent crime Involved in guns According to the Canadian government, it has increased by 81% since 2009.

In December 2022, five people were killed and another injured in a shooting in a suburb of Toronto.

The surge in gun violence has prompted the government to recently ban more types of pistols and other guns.

In April 2020a gunman disguised as a policeman killed 22 people in the eastern province of Nova Scotia, the worst mass shooting in Canada. A few days after the Nova Scotia shooting, the country banned 1,500 types of military-grade or assault guns.
